Nobu Atlanta

Nobu is a perennial favorite of ours from New York m. The black cod miso is a staple for us when celebrating any particular special occasion, but overall the experience every time is typically excellent so Nobu is graded in my book next to the top restaurants that I would ever want to go to. On that scale, this may be a four. On the everything has to be perfect all the time scale the service was mildly disjointed as what I would say, we didn’t have the same waiter the whole time, but to compensate all the staff was attentive and kind. The addition of a toddler made things a little harder for us this time, but they worked extra hard to try to compensate. I would recommend them doing something special for birthday parties. They did accommodate and I am not expecting Hooters here but this was definitely a special location for the birthday girl and a little more would’ve gone further. I’m not sure how to do that and keep the atmosphere at the restaurant the same but arbitrarily disallowing balloons is an odd choice I think. Some of the food items were a little bit just a shade under perfect but really, the experience was and always is truly amazing. That being said, staff did go out of their way to try to accommodate all levels of foodie knowledge during our visit. The food I mention include the black cod above, the yellowtail appetizer, which is really wonderful etc. We had a deep fried rice thing with tuna, which was pretty good but the soy sauce really made it kind of salty, which wasn’t the greatest. I had apparently the most common drink people order, which is the lychee martini. The martini itself was good, not earth shattering. The lychee was the perfect level of freshness, but the drink itself was almost too smooth and left me wondering about the martini bit. But overall, I am honestly just nitpicking. They did a fantastic job overall and accommodated a difficult and complicated group with grace and left us with a great experience. If this was my last meal before I did, I would be OK with that. Just saying. Give it a go - you can’t go wrong with Nobu.

The food was amazing. As we were celebrating two birthdays, we enjoyed large family-style portions. We ordered the squid (calamari), edamame, gyoza, yellowtail hamachi, sea bass, tuna tacos, truffle rice (our least favorite ) sushi rolls and three rounds of drinks. The complexity of the flavors made for a true culinary experience that made me long for more. I can't wait to return again.

My husband and I enjoyed our date night at Nobu. We ordered the King Crab tempura, Yellowtail Jalapeno, Black Cod with Miso, Waygu, Roasted Cauliflower, Baked Alaska, Vanilla Miso Tart, and we tried a variety of sushi pieces and cocktails. Overall we loved the food and drinks. The staff were present and super attentive to us during the meal. They kept circling to refill my sparkling water and hubby's still. They removed plates and dishes quickly in between meals. We never waited on food or drinks to arrive at our table. The staff did a great job of pacing the arrival of each dish. We will likely return to try more items on the menu! It was so nice to experience a nice meal with my hubby away from the kids for the evening. I highly recommend for a date night, anniversary dinner, or birthday celebration! I was so excited about the food that there were so many items I didn't take a photo of - I forgot until we were halfway through it!!
