Nobu San Diego Reviews

Very expensive yet outstanding restaurant. Meals are served family style but in relatively small potions so expect to order 4-5 items if you are looking to be full. Service is amazing with the staff extremely attentive and constantly refilling or removing places as soon as you are done with them. They go the extra mile to make you feel special. Food tastes amazing but you will need to rely on the staff recommendations since there are few descriptions of the items in the menu.

Nobu is actually very accommodating to a gluten free menu and many options are either already gluten free or can be made gluten free. We've gone several times and it's always been amazing. Get the black cod, its amazing.

We went here while in town for a work conference. It was a really nice time, and they were able to switch us from patio seating to indoor with limited notice and we ended up staying for about two hours. Waters were refilled before they ran out. As was the champagne we ordered. It is family style which is something to keep in mind for allergies - though the staff was tip notch placing dishes with the allergen away from the person with the allergy, and they swapped out chopsticks and plates for everyone before going back to shared non-allergen courses. Everything was worth getting two of (which we did, except some things were bumped up to 3). We had the toro tartare, bluefin tuna, fish and chips, blackened cod, miso soup, king crab, toro nigiri and lobster. It was a bit pricey - with drinks expect to spend 250-300 per person before tip, if you aren't very hungry. Definitely worth the splurge in both money and calories.
